Help for a sore ?

One of my has been sore for about a week. It is not related to menstruation or menopause and I am quite sure I am not pregnant. The which is sore has been pierced for about 5 years, could the piercing be to blame after all this time? I have made an appointment with a doctor but it is not for a week so I am hoping for some possible causes in the mean time. Any help is appreciated.
