Why do people do that? It gets me down?

Basically, Im deaf but I lipread very well and my voice is absolutely clear so no doubt about that. But people don't approach me, why is that? I do make an effort to talk but sometimes i just wish people would come and make the effort, I'm talking about college, Im taking 4 A levels to purse a career in medicine, hopefully. *Sighs. I have a signer with me al the time to sign whatever is being said when needed. I just feel really low and feel as though Im uninteresting. I have a strong deaf identity but lately Ive been resnting my deafness which is devastating for me. Please help x
