Did Rabbi Saul (St. Paul) successfully cut off Christians from the eternal covenant which was given to Isaac ?

From my research, there seems to be very little to believe that Paul was trying to push the "renegade Jews" to the idea of the trinity. A major argument against that is that the idea of the trinity according to many law deciders is a form of idolatry. This being the case, why would a Jew push other Jews to the worst of all sins, instead of trying to bring them back to Judaism.
