Anyone realise the daVinci code book tile is odd?

It clicked to me today that the book's title is strange. Obviously it's meant to be about leonardo daVinci and probably abut some code of his (no interesting reading it at all) when it comes to the title, but if you look into his history you'll find out his surname is not daVinci, if I recall correctly, no one knew his surname. In the Italian language, daVinci means of Vinci (dunno what the modern town name is) so with that knowledge the book is really called (all in English, almost) "the of Vinci code". Yes I'm am picking holes in the tiles and wanna know if the tiles still stands after knowng this knowledge?
